The NT have decided to stop Working Holidays however, the vital conservation volunteering activities will continue through other schemes. This means with NTV Groups such as this one.
The NT are now promoting NTV groups, although links on the NT website take you to Supporter Groups who are different to NTV Groups and any NTV groups listed are hidden away in Geographical areas. This does not help nomadic groups like ours who rarely are found in London. However we are trying to get this revised so NTV groups are easier to find on the NT website.
Some good news is that we have some tasks booked for this year obviously subject to Covid rules in place at the time of the event. Bad news is that the first ones are in Tier 4 so unlikely to take place.
Numbers may be restricted by the NT, but volunteering counts as work so rules on numbers may not apply. Presumably meeting places will be at work site, so may need to get there rather than the local Basecamp. The weekends booked are highly unlikely to take place for some time as Basecamps remain closed. If they go ahead they may well end up as a day task on one or both days.
We may ask if you want to attend more than one event that you express a preference so that if numbers are restricted it allows more volunteers out rather than the same few at each event. Where a location is in a different colour this is a link to to Bunkhouse/Basecamp or Location with details and directions, and we are presently updating these. There may be changes throughout the year, and where known we will update the work sites or tasks, but note these may change due to weather or other jobs taking priority.
Task, if known (May be subject to change)

NT group volunteering guidance – based on the latest Government guidelines:
England – Tiers 1,2 & 3: Group volunteering can continue if the tasks are classed as essential, with a maximum of 15 people outside. The maximum number specified includes all staff and volunteers in the group.
England – Tier 4, Wales and Northern Ireland: Group volunteering should be paused, unless it is in in support of tasks required for components that remain open and must be agreed with the property.
Should any group volunteering continue based on the exception above in these areas, anyone classed as extremely clinically vulnerable should not be coming into our places or joining the group.
We will keep the decision to pause volunteering in these areas under regular review and anticipate reviewing the decision for each country and tier in early January.

If numbers are low on an event please consider coming along to support us, and the work we do for the National Trust. If we have to cancel due to low numbers it may affect future bookings at that location.
Please print off the booking form (should be able to complete online before printing) and send it with a cheque or postal order to the bookings officer at the address given on the form. Members please see the latest emailed newsletter for details of how to transfer payment to bank account. Any bookings not accompanied by payment will take second place to those who have paid, and if the event becomes full you will be placed on the reserve list.
The booking form is only to be used for events over two weeks away, otherwise please contact the leaders. If you are not a member, or do not have their contact details, then click here to send an email to the Bookings Officer with your contact details (preferably a phone number), who will pass on your details to the leaders.
You do not need to be a member of the LWMNTV to attend any of these events. If you pay your membership before attending a weekend event, we will send you a Free Event Pass worth £10 and valid for six months, as an encouragement to try one.
Please note that if you do not want to attend the whole weekend you are welcome to attend just one day. Please contact the Bookings Officer or Leader to let them know. Saturdays are best as we usually work approx 09:00 – 17:00, and on Sundays approx 09:00 – 12:30.
