Nearest major route: A303 between Andover and Honiton/Yeovil Nearest station: Gillingham (7 miles) or Frome (10 miles)
  1. From the A303 turn off on to the B3092 and follow the several National Trust signs to Stourhead.
  2. After turning left and the few houses of Stourton village, drive past the car park signs and turn RIGHT under the stone arch. W3W: sneezing.dressing.scans Follow the drive around to the left and you will see the house.
  3. Take the 2nd LEFT W3W: texted.disco.smirking into the estate stableyard (1st will be wooden gates). Drive round to left and park towards end.
  4. The basecamp is at the rear (door by Discovery Centre sign) behind the granary raised on steddles.

The basecamp is situated in part of the estate stableyard and has been renovated to a high standard. There is one now carpeted dormitory upstairs divided into two. Central heating, kitchen with fridge and freezer and large cooker, dining / common room. Two washrooms with showers (these are the originals finally upgraded and back in use). The Granary previously a dormitory was then the secondhand bookshop (which is now in the yard by pub), is now the bookshop store.
